Frequently
Asked Questions
What are your hours?
All of our artists work by appointment only, so it's best to call or email to schedule a time with them before coming by the shop. We make weekday, weekend, and evening appointment times. If you have availability Mon-Fri days or nights we can ususally get you in sooner than if you need a weekend appointment, as those tend to get booked up the soonest.
How
do I make an appointment?
You can send us an email (info@allegedtattoo.com)
or give a call at (206) 852-8689. We take a $50 deposit to hold
an appointment time. When emailing please include details such as what you would like to get, what style, where on your body, what size, etc.
What’s
the deposit for?
We require a $50 deposit to hold your appointment or start on
artwork. All deposits are NON-Refundable, but are applied to the
final cost of the tattoo. We are happy to reschedule, but you
must give us 48 hours notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment.
Cancellations without appropriate notice, no-shows, or being in excess of a half hour late to your appointment will result
in the forfeiture of your deposit.
Where
are you located?
We are at 1214 10th Ave, Seattle WA 98122, in the Pike/Pine neighborhood
of Capitol Hill. If you are familiar with the area we're just
around the corner from Po-Dog, a block south of Neumos. Our cross
streets are E. Union and E. Seneca. We are located in the front
part of the building that houses the Eclectic Theatre Company, entrance
is through the theatre, we are the first door on the right as
you enter the building.
Do you
do piercing?
Nope.
What’s your rate? What’s
the shop minimum?
Our shop rate varies by artist and ranges from $130 to $150 an hour. We have a $75 shop minimum regardless of size or how long it takes, Lisa Orth currently had a $200 minimum.
Our hourly rates include all state and city sales taxes, there
are no extra charges.
How
old do I have to be?
You must be at least 18 years of age with legal identification
to be tattooed. No exceptions. We will not tattoo minors even
if they have parental consent or a parent is with them. You must
present a current photo ID at the time of your appointment regardless
of your age. Types of acceptable ID are driver's licenses, state
ID card, military ID, or passports.
Do you take credit cards?
Sure. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Discover. Cash is always
welcome. Sorry, no personal checks.
Can I bring my friends to my appointment?
Please keep in mind that size wise our shop is very small, so it is not advisable to bring a large number of people with you to your appointment. If you are the only person being tattooed at the time of your appointment we can allow one person to accompany you during your sitting, otherwise friends will be required to wait in our lobby while you are being tattooed.
Do you
use vegan ink?
We use several brands of ink, all of which are from well-know
companies with great reputations. One of these brands is Eternal
Ink, which is one of the few companies which uses only vegan ingredients
to create their pigment, they state that "Eternal Ink is
100% Vegan safe as we put no animal by-products in any of our
colours." Let us know at time of booking if you prefer this
option.
Are
you licensed? Is your shop clean and sterile?
We are a Licensed and Insured Tattoo Shop in Washington State,
(Washington State License number 1301). Our artists hold current
licenses as "Licensed Tattoo Artist Operator"s in the
state of Washington, have Bloodborne Pathogen Certification, and
adhere to a strict procedure in following a sterile chain of events
(Universal Precautions) for evey tattoo. A certified medical grade
autoclave is on site for sterilization. All needles are new and
single use for each client and are disposed of immediately after
use. If you need any additional information concerning our procedures,
policies, licenses or certification please don't hesitate to ask.
Can I take something for
the pain?
We won't tattoo you if you're under the influence of illegal drugs
or alcohol. Alcohol thins your blood and makes you a pain in the
ass to tattoo. Don't take aspirin or other drugs that thin the
blood before your tattoo, but Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, or Aleve
are not a bad idea to take the edge off. But... it is common knowledge
that if you take something to null the pain there will be no magic
added to your tattoo... nuff said.
